We are so excited today! Ryan is going on his first field trip since he has been enrolled at his online school. The school has been having bowling days all winter throughout Ohio and today it is in our area. My hubby even took a vacation day to go with us! Next week there is a field trip at a even cooler place, COSI that I hope we can make it to. If he doesn’t get to go there next week, we will definitely be going there in the summer.
I know for sure that one girl in his class will be at the bowling alley today. I have been hoping that he will interact with some of the kids today but with his Aspergers I just don’t know. He has always seemed very content just being by himself. I hope at least one of his teachers will be at this field trip, I would love to meet one of them.
I have my camera all ready to tomorrow’s Wordless Wednesday is going to be full of bowling pictures!
On a sadder note, I am sure most of the country knows about the shooting at a high school up around Cleveland yesterday and I just looked at the news and another one of the students has passed away. This breaks my heart and I am sending lots of prayers for those 5 family’s. One of our local stations yesterday stayed on the air just about all day reporting about this tragedy. I watched for awhile and just couldn’t handle it anymore, all I could do is cry.

Hate hearing sad news like that!! I wish there was more happy stuff to report on the news and it always pulls at my heart strings when its about kids! agh!!! That science center looks really cool!! I want to go on a field trip!

Awful just awful about the shooting. Completely broke my heart too. Why do such horrible things have to happen?

That is so sad about the Ohio school. I watched parts of the footage on the news yesterday. Such a tragedy, prayers are with those families affected.

I never watch the news and I haven’t heard about the shootings. What happened? I guess I could google it. I try to catch the weather but the news is just so depressing these days. It makes me not want to watch it.
Anyway, I hope he has so much fun on his field trip and PLEASE let one of his teachers be there. That wouldn’t be cool if they weren’t.

I just read a little bit about the shootings on MSN and it is heart-breaking. I hate it. Not that any tragedy is less tragic than the next, but school schootings always bother me the most. School is supposed to be a place where kids feel safe and are happy…so, it’s just so sad and devestating when stuff like this happens. Praying for the victims and their families…and the shooter and his family. What a horrible thing to go through.
